Revit Fundamentals

Course Overview

Revit Fundamentals is the core Autodesk Revit 2027 training course and the minimum required course to work competently with Revit in the AEC industry. The program teaches the essential skills for 2D and 3D Revit design — from walls to doors, windows, ceilings, roofs, schedules, and printable views.

Course content draws from the IMAGINiT Autodesk Revit Fundamentals for Architecture and Autodesk Revit Site Planning and Design programs, combining architectural modeling with site and coordination fundamentals.

Course Contents

Revit Architecture Fundamentals (IMAGINiT)

• Understanding BIM and how Revit works as a BIM platform
• Revit 2027 interface, navigation, and workspace
• Creating a 3D building model: walls, curtain walls, doors, and windows
• Adding floors, ceilings, and roofs to the model
• Creating component-based and custom stairs and railings
• Adding furniture, equipment, and component features
• Dimensions, text, annotation, tags, and schedules
• Setting up sheets for plotting and construction documentation

Site Planning and Design

• Understanding the Revit coordinate system and project positioning
• Linking files and working with shared coordinates
• Creating toposolids and site plans
• Adding property lines and site components
• Modifying site surfaces: sub-divides, splits, and grading
• Annotating site plans

What You Will Be Able to Do

• Create a complete full 3D architectural project model
• Produce coordinated drawings including floor plans, elevations, sections, and 3D views
• Generate schedules, material tags, and room finish schedules
• Set up and print construction document sheet sets
• Apply site planning and design tools for real project workflows
